Apart from loving my work, I am also an animal lover, just like my husband. We have had a horse, German Shepherds, Labradors, Bull Mastiffs, and currently, we have a Great Dane called MJ. This love has opened a new realm for us, where we introduced Animal Cruelty-Free Weddings through www.thegrandindianchariot, where we save horses by introducing an electric chariot for Baraat, brides, and grooms.
I love experimenting with cooking and healthy cooking with my master chef daughter in our free time. I am also very interested in herbology and living organically. Some of my other hobbies include reading biographies and stories of real people. I feel that my work is recreational and I feel lucky that I could earn a living by following my passion.
Currently, I am a wedding consultant, wedding planner, mom, wife, and, at the top, an author! My first book, “The Grand Indian Tamasha,” takes readers on a roller coaster ride into my world of weddings. It is written in my true witty style, hilariously unedited, and shares stories as they happened. Watch out for this book, slated for release on May 10th, 2023, published by Om Books and written by Rasika Bhatia.

About Book
Reception ho yah inflation…shaadiyaan toh honi hai.’ The band, baaja, baraat have got louder. With destination weddings, experiential events, curated guestlists gaining popularity, the wedding planner has become a permanent fixture on the shaadi scene not just as the event organiser but as the friend, philosopher, and guide to the entire khandaan. The Great Indian Tamasha makes us realize that saying yes to the proposal is probably the easiest part. As we immerse ourselves in the chaos of the stories laced with black humour, we are exposed to the dark underbelly of the weddings of the affluent and the influential. These weddings are more than just a glamorous return to traditions or celebration of new kinship bonds; they have come to epitomize conspicuous consumption and a show of strength. Well-known wedding planner Rasika Bhatia’s incisive portrayal of spirited brides, hesitant grooms, controlling parents, greedy in-laws, fraudulent clients, and conniving competitors aptly depicts the behind-the-scenes shenanigans of the modern big, fat Indian wedding that has indeed become a tamasha.
